Passo della Civera - Otro valley Map

The Civera pass lies to the right of the Zube pass giving access to the Otro valley via a steep gully, followed by a wonderful slope that leads down into the valley.

Description

From the top station of Passo Salati follow the Salati piste to the end of the first flat road, after the first steep section. Go off-piste on the left side of the piste, under the north face of the Corno Rosso. At the end of a long traverse you will start to climb along a narrow valley. After the first steep pitch, you will arrive in a flat area and be able to see the Passo Zube. From this point, the Civera pass is also visible on the right side of the Zube pass. Traverse to the right (south) going up and keeping near to the rock barrier, the last few meters to the pass are quite steep (this climb will take approximately one hour). At the pass you have a great view of the two valleys (Alagna and Gressoney). Head down into the couloir (35°) on the Alagna side. After 200m the couloir opens up into an awesome slope that signals the beginning of the Otro valley. From here, you can follow the classic route from the Zube pass to the Alagna village.
