Liskamm West Summit (4479 m) Map

The Liskamm is an impressively large mountain on the border between the Swiss canton of Valais and the Italian region of Valle d'Aosta. It gained a reputation of meanness and severity from its many cornices and proneness to avalanches. The border ridge consists of Liskamm Ost, a 4527m high east summit and Liskamm West, a 4479m high summit. The two Liskamm peaks are separated from each other by a saddle, and this popular ski tour is a hut to hut route taking you up to the Liskamm West summit.

Description

Beginning at the Rifugio Quintino Sella, reached by the Capanna Quintino Sella, head up the Liskamm West Summit (4479m) by taking the slopes up the Felik glacier, bypass the Punta Perazzi to the east, and continuing on to the Felikjoch (4061m). From here you descend a little until you reach the col and follow the ridge towards Liskamm west, approaching from the north side.

Descend the way you came up to Felikjoch, and from there head down to the Monte Rosa hut.
