This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be severe. It's remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between February and April. From a low point of 996 m to the maximum altitude of 2.4 km, the route covers 15 km, 1621 vertical metres of ascent and 1610 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 4.3 and Labande grade 4. You'll need skins, ice axe and crampons to complete it safely.

Description

Head up Velka studena dolina and then straight up the couloir to the saddle. From there easy along the ridge to the summit. Ski down same way - Wide and long couloir, great skiing in the right conditions.

Severe

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
