Santa Margarida -> Dragon Kahn Enduro Ride Map

Parc de Collserola is a veritable maze of technical singletrack trails. This massive web of ancient paths allows riders to create routes of various combinations. The route mapped here is anchored by the Santa Margarida and Dragon Kahn descents.

Description

As with all rides in this region of Collserola, you can choose to either pedal up the pavement or ride to the top in the funicular. The route mapped here begins from the top of the funicular, near el Tibidabo.

After twisting through a couple of trails near La Muralla China, you'll pop out on the pavement to pedal over to Santa Margarida. Before you drop into this descent, ensure that you're up for a real mountain bike ride: you're officially dropping down into the middle of nowhere with a stiff climb required to get back to the pavement!

Let's assume you're in for the ride, because Santa Margarida is a delightfully-narrow singletrack twisting through the dense forest. The consistent grade creates an incredible descent that you can really lay into! Santa Margarida doesn't see as much traffic as other routes closer to the city, which means the trail is narrower, less worn, and delightfully sinuous. But due to the dense undergrowth, the sightlines on this trail are quite short, so ride heads-up!

After grinding back up to the pavement, connect over to the Dragon Kahn trail. While it might not look like much on the map, this trail is a ridiculously rad technical descent! Unlike other trails in Collserola, Dragon Kahn isn't at all steep, which allows you to let off the brakes and focus on playing in the rock gardens and on the massive boulder features.

With such a mellow grade, it's surprising that Dragon Kahn is as rocky as it is. You'll encounter a few big rock roll features, optional ledge drops, and all manner of rocky tech.

Follow up Dragon Kahn with a rocky rip down through classic Collserola troughs to the low point of the route. From here, it's a grind back up the mountain in classic Collserola style to gain the top of the ridge, and one final descent down the front side.

While you can choose any descent that you'd wish, such as La Secreta, the descent mapped here is a relatively mellow grade with entertaining rock gardens and twisty switchbacks to finish. Not every trail in Collserola has to feel death-defying, and this final descent is a great way to finish a rewarding ride!
