The barren mountain, ancient mountain birches, meandering forest paths, and stunning scenery is unbeatable by any other bike park in Scandinavia, and arguably gives any French alpine resort a run for its money. With a height difference of 853m, biking top to bottom on Mt Åreskutan brings it all in this one ride.
With 34 trails (7 green lines, 9 blue, 9 red, and 9 black) and 50km of possible riding there is something for everyone here and is guaranteed to put a big smile on any rider’s face—young or old, beginner or seasoned professional. Many of the trails are machine-built and can include berms, wall rides, rock gardens, step-downs, drops, jumps, or a lot of flow. The severity, frequency and difficulty ranges across all skill levels depending on the grade/colour of the trail. There is also natural singletrack making use of the grippy rock surface at the top and birch forests on the way down.
The park is split into two levels serviced by multiple lifts; two consecutive gondolas or the main telecabin to the very top and other chairlifts on the lower level. Reaching the top provides access to two of the best natural-feeling, barren trails the park offers: Easy Rider, a blue trail, and 1000 Meters, a red trail.
The adventure mapped here follows Easy Rider, offering the opportunity to as many riders as possible, including beginners. There are a couple of rock-rolls which may challenge a beginner or someone adverse to exposure. Other than that, the trail is broad, machine dug, and super flowy. Some sections run over natural rock, with fast berms carving their way down the open, alpine terrain.
At the end of Easy Rider the route continues via Organic, which is a short, sharp trail with some (rollable) jumps. Manskogen (Moonforest) runs straight into Getrappen (Goatsnap) and both are wide, smooth singletrack with lots of beautiful curving berms and jumps on a flowy trail through birch forest before arriving back at the lift for another go.
This incredible top-to-bottom mountain route will thrill and inspire everyone, guaranteed.
Mostly stable trail tread with some variability featuring larger and more unavoidable obstacles that may include, but not be limited to: bigger stones, roots, steps, and narrow curves. Compared to lower intermediate, technical difficulty is more advanced and grades of slopes are steeper. Ideal for upper intermediate riders.
