The vista from Zumwalt Meadows in Kings Canyon National Park is reminiscent of Yosemite Valley, but with a fraction of the peopel! This short mile and a half hike "provides visitors with a scenic contrast to the powerful rock formations deep in the heart of the canyon," according to VisitSequoia.com.

Description

This mellow hike offers flat, gentle trails through a lush meadow, with views of the Kings River and cedar trees, in addition to the towering granite cliffs. With wide boardwalks and graveled paths, most anyone can negotiate this wonderfully-scenic hike.

"For a slightly longer trek, meander west along the peaceful river trail toward Roaring River Falls, where you’ll find a small waterfall and the opportunity to scramble over some boulders," according to Michelle Juergen of TravelAgeWest.com.
