A short open powder stash with pitch and glades
Freeride Skiing Moderate
Dalke's Drop is a short, 100 yard powder stash en route down to Storm, B.C and Pony Lifts from Thunderhead Lodge. Hidden off Why Not and often overlooked, this is a great drop to include in your morning run on way to the summit or when searching for powder stashes. It is located off the first pronounced switchback to the left of the Why Not Trail, just beside the Snowshoe and Nature information sign. Drop skier's left through a meadow and continue fall line following down to Park Lane cat track or continue on for more glades all the way to So What cat track and B.C Lift Lines. Be careful not to ski too far right, as a major drainage trap exists. This is great on a powder day, well shaded and holds powder for days.
