The Fish Creek area is a legendary side country canyon parallel to Steamboat Resort. It's home to some of the most accessible extreme terrain in all of Colorado! Zone 3 is a particularly enjoyable zone and is a great first line to check out in Fish Creek Canyon proper. It's also the widest of the Zones here with plenty of lines to choose from up top. The top section is very lightly gladed and is almost reminiscent of bowl skiing. There are many different paths through this upper section. The two sides have the steepest lines and the middle has the gentlest pitch. All options are fair game and great choices. The upper section filters into a more heavily gladed section that's challenging to maneuver. Be careful about venturing too far skiers' left, there's a huge drop-off. Follow the runout to the bottom of the canyon. From here, you must skin/hike out.
