Green World -> Roly Poly from Olympia Map

Green World is Trestle's quintessential beginner trail. All of the beginner mountain bike lessons conducted by the bike school take place on this trail, and it's the perfect spot for beginner riders (or riders new to downhill mountain biking) to sink their tires into their first flow trail.

Description

Green World is one of only two top-to-bottom trails in the Trestle Bike Park, which makes navigation ultra-easy for those unfamiliar with the complexities of downhill mountain bike parks. No matter which lift you begin from, you can pick up Green World and take it all the way to the bottom.

That said, the route shown here utilizes Roly Poly to create an entire top-to-bottom green run on the Olympia lift. The route mostly follows Green World from the top of Olympia but heads back to the bottom of Olympia via Roly Poly. If you were to follow Green World all the way down, you'd end up back at the base area.

While this is probably best categorized as a beginner flow trail, Green World provides a variety of different trail styles on its long winding path down the mountain. The upper section starts off ultra-flowy, whipping through perfectly manicured berms and rollers on a beautiful undulating flow trail. As of the time of this writing in 2023, this section of trail appears to have recently been rebuilt. After crossing the first road, you'll enter an older section of Green World that drops a bit faster down the mountainside.

At many points, other trails will junction with Green World and, at times, run in parallel with this trail. In those few spots where the trail sees additional trail traffic coming off the nearby intermediate or advanced trails, the singletrack is prone to braking bumps in the fast sections, especially when entering into corners. These rough spots can feel a bit challenging for beginners, but once the advanced trail traffic pulls off, the trail smooths back out again.

There are several more natural sections of Green World that feature small roots and rocks in the trail tread, which differ from the manicured flow trail style. This variety can help beginners test their bike skills on small features and build confidence for the intermediate trails on the mountain.

One short stretch of Green World does require riders to pedal up a small uphill before resuming the downhill run. While this is unfortunate in a bike park, it appears there's no way around this due to the mountain's terrain.

Shortly after resuming the downhill, riders will funnel back into a great section of swoopy berms and classic flow trail—a true treat! Don't lose track of where you are in this swoopy section, as you'll need to look for the turn onto Roly Poly.

Thankfully, Roly Poly lives up to its name, keeping the flow high with a series of undulating rollers. This is a sweet finish to this green run and is a much higher-quality trail than the lower sections of the named Green World trail near the base area.
