Steep chutes, tight trees, and big cliff bands? Sick. This tends to hold good snow and is a fantastic descent for how close it is to the trailhead.

Description

Approach up the east ridge of Hallett Peak, until the little notch at about 10,400'. Go off north down one of the several steep entrances, picking your way through cliffs and trees. Maybe go off some of them and let me know how it goes...

Difficulty

Severe

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.

Medium Exposure (E2)

2 out of 4
