Hourglass Cliffs - Hourglass Map

Hourglass is a route through what are often referred to as the Hourglass Cliffs. The Hourglass Cliffs are a rock outcropping that is exposed to high winds. The snowpack is often very thin. The thin snowpack coupled with the many rock features means that there are often small avalanches in Hourglass Cliffs.

Description

Getting to the entrance of Hourglass requires that you ski down the rock ridge from the entrance of Lobster Trap. On skier's right, just before the ridge ends in a large cliff, is the entrance to Hourglass. This entrance is often affected by the wind, which can significantly change its appearance/approachability. The chute has a choke in the middle (hence the name Hourglass) and can be a fun straightline if snow conditions warrant.
