Kuliouou Ridge Trail Map

The Kuliouou Ridge Trail is one of the most popular hikes on Oahu. This short, steep climb ascends through the rainforest to the top of a formidable ridgeline, providing views over Waimanalo Beach and much of the eastern side of Oahu.

Description

The switchbacked trail traverses some boulders and climbs up and over plenty of roots on its way to the summit. Other portions of the trail are buried in deep pine needles, silencing your footsteps as you trudge through the dense undergrowth.

You'll pass through one open area during the climb, which provides a brief break from the thick forest and an overlook. This is a great spot to stop for a snack, if needed, before finishing the climb to the summit.
