This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be easy. It's very remote, it features low exposure (e1) and is typically done between November and April. From a low point of 1.6 km to the maximum altitude of 2.5 km, the route covers 5.9 km, 935 vertical metres of ascent and 56 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 1.1 and Labande grade 1. You'll need skins to complete it safely.

Description

Middle Cottonwood trail is about 4 miles to a shoulder on the South side of South Saddle Peak. It is rockier than Truman, and crosses the creek many times. There is good skiing in the upper reaches of the trail.
