Seven Wonders Loop Map

The Seven Wonders trail is one of the most spectacular short hikes in Valley of Fire State Park. The route shown here is a logical loop on the Seven Wonders trail, including a few of the connected alt trails. However, it doesn't quite complete the entire named "Seven Wonders" trail, as shown on the map. Doing so would require an extra spur at the bottom of the loop.

Description

The trail receives its name from the so-called "Seven Wonders" rock formations that you can find in this region. However, finding all Seven Wonders is a tricky endeavor, as they can be hidden or hard to spot. These wonders include a slot canyon, a colorful rock formation reminiscent of a rainbow, a large arch spanning the wash, a smaller hidden arch, a massive sandstone dome, and more. Technically, to view all of these wonders, you'd need to connect to nearby trails such as the Fire Wave Trail and the White Domes Loop. For a recommended route connecting all these trails together, please see the Seven Wonders -> Fire Wave -> White Domes Loop itinerary.

Whether or not you spot all Seven Wonders, this short loop is a spectacular tour of one of the most beautiful parts of the park. You'll enjoy stunning vistas of elevated sandstone formations, narrow canyons, and beautifully-colored rock slabs (including the rainbow rock slab mentioned above).

At some points, you might need to watch your step on some of the rocks and rock ledges. If you're not sure where to go, be sure to look for signs, rock cairns, and other trail markers. Depending on your perspective, some parts of this hike might exceed the "Moderate" FATMAP difficulty rating, but even still, most people will have no problem completing this route. Seven Wonders is truly a wonderful outing that you'll no doubt remember for years to come!
