Tire Mountain Loop Map

Tire Mountain is "one of the most stunning trails near Oakridge," according to HikeOregon.net. Bag this incredible trail on this epic loop run!

The route mapped here begins at a junction on Tire Creek Road, but this loop can be accessed from a few different spots, including an upper gravel road junction with the Alpine Trail. However, this is the low point of the route, which allows you to begin with the climbing and finish with the descent.

The counter-clockwise loop begins by climbing the gravel road, then punching steeply up the Cover Patch Tie Trail to the Alpine Trail. While all of the trails in this area see a significant amount of mountain bike traffic, the Alpine Trail especially receives a significant amount of two-wheeled traffic. It's arguably the most popular mountain bike trail in the region and one of the best in the state, so as you climb the trail, expect to encounter high-speed downhill traffic.

After a short climb on the Alpine Trail, you'll reach the junction with the Tire Mountain trail. You can opt to dog leg a little to the right to reach a stunning view on the Alpine Trail, but once ready, take the left onto Tire Mountain.

Finally, you're to the main course of the meal! On Tire Mountain, you'll enjoy meadows filled with beautiful wildflowers, long-range views of the surrounding mountains, and picture-perfect singletrack trails. After topping out, it's almost all downhill back to the trailhead.

Like I said, almost. After turning left on the Cloverpatch trail, you'll have to punch up a quick 550-foot climb before resuming the rest of the descent down Cloverpatch. After the singletrack ends, follow the dirt road back down to your car.
