119 + 2 Map

This run is only for expert skiers. There is a steep cliff shot off the top of "119 +1". There is also a mandatory jump of about 8-10 feet depending on the snowpack. You will very likely be the first one down this on a given day. This run should only be skied during or after snow storms. This run is much more forgiving on a powder day as the landing will be much softer. This run is not recommended when the snow is hardpack. You can access this run off of Middle Bowl Chair or Needles Gondola. After exiting the lift/gondola pick your way down Strawberry Traverse, Fro-Zone, or Pork Barrel until you meet up with Porcupine Traverse. Follow the groomer until you hit the intersection with Middle Bowl Traverse. Take a right and immediately take a left off the the traverse towards the hills and trees that will be downhill from you. Stay left and, unless you are the first person down the mountain, there will be a boot pack up the taller hill on your left. Take your skis off, as the hike will go much faster without skis on. Hike up into the trees until you hit the ridge of the hill. Once you are on the ridge you can put your skis on and head upwards to your left. Don't stop until you hit the very tip of the peak, you may have to side step to do this. Once you are on the peak look down towards your left and the line will present itself to you. Huck the cliff down towards the trees, taking special care to avoid them. Dump your speed as you begin to meet up with "Needles Run". This run will send you down towards either Porcupine Chair or Needles Gondola.

Description

119 + 2 is really only worth skiing during mid-season, when there is a solid base and consistent storms. If you try to hit this during early or late season, the landing will be hard and rocky.

There is no avalanche danger as Ski Patrol bombs around this run daily.
