Resort Ski Touring Moderate
The Summit Central offers one designated route for uphill travel during operating hours. As mapped here it begins from the Silver Fir Lodge, but you could traverse over from the main parking or elsewhere in the resort instead. The up-track then follows Outback trail along the edge of the ski area. On the upper half of the climb the route turns off into the woods, granting some peace and quiet on a cattrack where resort traffic doesn’t go. It’s a rather roundabout way of getting to the top, however. Once on top you’ll have your choice of descents back to base.
Keep in mind that following the designated route uphill is only required during operating hours. In off hours you’re free to deviate, provided you avoid maintenance operations and closed runs. You will also need an uphill travel pass for access at any time. See the uphill travel policy and how to get a pass online.
