Resort Ski Touring Moderate
Of the three designated uphill routes at The Summit, this one offers the most vert with just over 1100 feet from bottom to top. The zigzagging route covers about 1.5 miles in distance, making a decent-length tour entirely within bounds of the resort. It begins on high-traffic green terrain but soon moves onto a quiet cattrack in the woods, working its way across some other ski runs and finally along a blue trail to the top. As you glimpse these other runs on the way up, you might decide which one looks best to ski down.
Once up on top of Mount Hyak at 3700 feet elevation, you’ll want to linger not only to catch your breath, but also to admire the view of Cascade Mountains all around. When it’s time to descend, you could take a quick rip down a black diamond, or choose a more meandering course on blue trails or tree runs. The decision can be yours based on whatever runs are open.
Note that The Summit at Snoqualmie requires an uphill pass for access at all times. During operating hours, uphillers must stick to the designated routes for ascent, but are allowed to deviate during off hours. For more information, see the uphill travel policy and how to get a pass online.
