"No visit to Jackson would be complete without a scream down Game Creek," writes Chris Daniels on Singletracks.com. This highly-acclaimed trail is not only popular with mountain bikers, but hikers, trail runners, and even backpackers flock to this route.

Description

“This loop has two things to offer. First, the scenery is outstanding,” writes Jim Steele on themountaingoat.net. Riders will enjoy vistas of Cache Peak, along with sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges from the top of the Cache/Game Divide. Wildflowers populate the alpine meadows, providing a colorful backdrop to your singletrack shredding.

According to the USFS, the trail flows through a mixture of willows and sections of pine forest. In places, “there are several beaver dams. . .so keep your eyes out for beavers in the early morning and at dusk.” Higher up, the Game Creek Trail runs "through a mixture of sagebrush and small aspen and pine forest."

"Second, the ride down Game Creek is exhilarating,” Steele continues. " It’s downhill the entire way, so you’ll get a chance to rest after the gradual climb up Cache Creek. It’s not a technical ride, but you do have to watch for roots, rocks and other obstacles. Don’t get going faster than you’re comfortable with – there are plenty of switchbacks, blind corners, and other trail users."

"This loop seems to offer it all: a decent workout, great views, wildflowers, wildlife, proximity to town, and an exhilarating descent,” Steele concludes
