Description

Although they don't have any 4000ers, or many glaciers, the Dolomites are widely considered to be some of the most beautiful mountains in Europe. Being made of limestone they are utterly unique, and unlike anything else on Earth. They look impossibly steep and difficult to climb and the fact that they rise out of green meadows makes them even more other-worldly.

It is no exaggeration to say that there is a lifetime's hiking, climbing, mountaineering and skiing to be had in the Dolomites, but if you only have long weekend in summer to explore the region, these 3 adventures will give you a sample of what is on offer.

Completing these hikes will take you to 2 summits, and beneath the north faces of the Tre Cime - perhaps the best known of all the Dolomite mountains. Even the drives required to get to these hikes are spectacular, let alone the routes themselves!
