Sitting at over 1800m in a remote Italian valley, Livigno was first settled during the Middle Ages and in more recent times it has been discovered by keen skiers, hunting the snow and terrain for which the town has become famous.
Livigno enjoys a tax-free status due its proximity to the Swiss border and the difficulty of reaching the town in winter. At times in its history the town has been a major hub for smugglers but nowadays it has become a mecca for skiers, particularly those who enjoy riding powder fast.
There are plenty of lines to get you started in this guidebook but as you ski these routes you will soon discover just how much there is on offer in Livigno for those with an adventurous spirit....Get exploring!
