Valle Pehuenche from Paso Lolco, Corralco Map

The Valle Pehuenche is a well known place for it's snow quality, beside the first part of skinning is quite long and flat, once you entered to the valley you will be rewarded with many options for spending a whole day having fun.

Description

Also it's important to know that this is a sacred valley for the Pehuenches (the Mapuches, native people, that lives in the area) because here is where the Cautin river borns. So don't forget to enter respectfully and ask permissions to the Ñuke Mapu (mother earth in Mapudungún) before getting into it.

From the parking lot, skiing up the valley that goes towards the Navidad lift and once there continue all the way to the Lolco Pass (where the Crater navidad summer trail start) and there go East to get to the valley itself. Once there the options you will have are numerous. Don't forget also to ask locals for avalanche conditions, some part are likely to and others for cornice falling avalanches as you will see in the pictures. If not sure is highly recommended to hire a guide. The routes marked is a good recommendation for a day, but using your navigation skills, the Fatmap terrain tool or a guide you will have many more options. ¡Enjoy!
