Take the Grandes Montets gondola up to the top of Aiguille des Grands Montets. Leaving the lift station, traverse left. This many require a small amount of touring or bootpacking so ensure you are well prepared.

Once on the traverse, ski all the way to the end, above all the ice climbs. A few trees mark the edge of the 150m+ cliff that was the site of Tim Howell's ski BASE jump from this location.

Head down the Glacier des Rognons, keeping left at the Argenntiere Glacier to follow the contour of the mountain back down in the direction of the valley floor.
