Along a ridge and then an open face.
Freeride Skiing Difficult
A potentially tricky ridge that can be avoided opens to good open face, starts steep then flattens out.
From the top of Vernant head right (left from the Grand Vans) and follow the ridge as high as you want to access this open face.
It is possible to keep pretty much on the ridge – though you need a head for heights and to be confident. You can also drop down, lose some height and still get several turns in.
This whole face which is now on your left is skiable – be careful as it does slide often.
You can pretty much pick your own route here as you ski down and join Tourmaline piste – don’t go too far right or you’ll end up in trees with a river to cross!
