Clot Gauthier North Face Chutes Map

The Clot Gauthier lift has some obvious and easily accessible off piste directly underneath it. However, there are also a couple of fun chutes and open faces to the right hand side at the top, on the north face. While fairly steep, they are not long and so are a good introduction to steep skiing. Access is pretty straightforward – you just need to avoid the wooden avalanche barriers by skiing around them to their right for the right hand line and to their left for the left hand line. Obviously good in powder, these two similar lines are also a joy to ski in cold, grippy, mid-winter snow. As you rejoin the piste below (Sellettes), take care as there can be a steep drop onto it at times.
