On the way up the Combes chairlift you get a good look at this trail and it turns out to be exactly as it appears - smooth, fast and fun. It really is a great trip, with mile after mile of easy riding along a beautifully prepared trail.

Description

From the top of the Combes chairlift head south and then swing around north at the first bend to pass under the chairlift cable and reach a jeep track. Go down this to where it begins to flatten out at the top of the Orée du Bois chairlift, at which point you need to hang a left and start the ride proper.

Right from the beginning the riding is easy and flows naturally. After a few bends you'll reach a junction where the track meets its other entry point - the trail in from the top of the Casse du Boeuf chairlift. Zoom down a few more bends and then enter the best section of all - the part that passes underneath the Combes chairlift cables. This section is really mellow and without technical difficulty but it's wonderful, stress-free riding which any biker will enjoy.

Lower down there are more fun zig zags but still nothing technically challenging. The track eventually leads to the same wide track which the Col de la Ricelle ride finishes on. Turn left and rip down to the Combes chairlift. Having tackled this line, L'Orée du Bois is a logical next step up. Alternatively, if you don't want to take the next step, take another lap on this brilliant line.
