This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be difficult. It's extremely remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between March and August. From a low point of 4.1 km to the maximum altitude of 4.2 km, the route covers 524 m, 145 vertical metres of ascent and 0 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 2.2 and Labande grade 3. You'll need rope, skins and crampons to complete it safely.
This is a peak is just above Balmenhorn with a nice view and an easy 4000m to conquer. It has a good view over Valsesia. Corno Nero is a minor peak just near Colle del Lys, usually ski tourers conquer it together with Ludwigshohe during the skin up towards Rifugio Margherita.
