Hiking Moderate
This route runs from the Vallvidrera Funicular to La Floresta train station via a prominent ridge in Collserola. While the first section of the hike sees a lot of traffic, the ridge itself is actually quite remote and secluded, aside from a few roads that you'll cross and small villages you'll pass through.
Early on in the hike, you'll reach the Vallvidrera reservoir, which is a very popular destination with locals looking to enjoy the park. "The reservoir provided the old town of Sarrià with drinking water until the end of the 19th century," according to BarcelonaNavigator.com. Since it's so close to the top of the funicular, many people enjoy hiking down to the reservoir to spend a day on its shores, looking at the water and the animal life that it sustains.
From the reservoir, you'll climb to gain the ridge, following the GR 96 trail. Along the top of the ridge, you'll enjoy views of Collserola and glimpses of Montserrat out in the distance.
Once down to La Floresta train station, catch a train back to Barcelona.
