Klein Matterhorn, North face, couloir 3 Map

The North face of Klein Matterhorn in the right conditions can be skied via 3 different couloirs. All are extremely steep and exposed over the void. Those couloirs are easily accessible thanks to the Klein Matterhorn lift but not so easy to ski - they offer extreme terrain and are not often in condition! To approach this line go around the Klein Matterhorn, trying not to lose height, staying on your right. Once on the flat glacier hike or skin up towards the ridge where the couloir starts. This couloir has the same start as couloir 2. Ski it until you reach the first big cliff, here stay on your left. You will reach a second rock bar, set up a rappel since you will have to bypass 3 cliffs of 10 metres each. I suggest you use a 40 metre rope. The couloir ends on the Theodul glacier. Keep right to rejoin the pistes.
