Peak Chute Map

Peak Chute is the only truly skiable way down the summit of Deadwood Peak. It takes an additional hike to reach here and you must take the Suicide Chute trail to reach the place where you must make the final push to the peak. Expect a very gnarly cornice right off the top and some huge cliffs right below. The chute's biggest challenge at face value is its pitch. It's quite steep, though while you do have a slight choke through 2 cliffs, this isn't narrow or technical at all. Arguably the scariest thing about Peak Chute is knowing that you're directly above the East Face and its gnarly cliffs. One slip up and you'll be sent hurdling to your death. Traverse skiers' right immediately after you've cleared the choke and from here, it takes a small walk back to the main summit access area of Deadwood Peak.
