Isolated alternate to Basin Trail
Freeride Skiing Moderate
Thunderbowl is a fantastic run in the Black Butte Basin. You can access it by initially taking the Basin Trail and then traversing skiers' right. The traverse is a bit lengthy but it's totally worth it as not too many people know of this bowl. The run itself is short, but the show retention here is really good. Thunderbowl is a very small bowl so it almost feels like a natural halfpipe. The run filters into the bottom of Black Butte Basin just like all the other runs. If you're looking for some good snow in this area, then Thunderbowl most of the time will deliver!
