Bald Hike Map

Bald Hike is accessed off Prospect Express chair 12 down rider's left of upper Galloping Goose. It is a favourite hike-to area on the Western edge of Prospect Bowl. Obeying the signed access gate Bald Mountain is an avalanche controlled short hike playground for experienced enthusiasts to step up to double black diamond terrain. The first few lines on Baldy are a friendly, single black style that works its way around to more advanced lines. Often overlooked, the hike-up zone offers some nice ridge turns, fall line options and wind lip/rock outcrop drops to provide a playful side-country session. You can hike it like a terrain park feature in five or ten minutes. With most of the traffic heading to the summit and beyond there's a good chance to find fresh tracks here weeks after a storm. With its north-east facing aspect it also collects its fair share of snow too, which you can inspect on the hike up. The trees can get tight toward the bottom.
