West 1 & 2 Map

This is a hike to run. Get off the High Alpine chair and head up to the entrance of the Hanging Valley Wall. Shoulder your skis and walk approximately ten minutes on this gentle uphill hike. If you don't want to hike, you can take The Cirque and take a long traverse to the skier's right to access this trail. After a big storm these runs are usually late to open due to avalanche control work. West 1 & 2 are quite steep, but the difficulty lies in the exposed rocks and cliffs. These runs can ski very differently based on varying snowpacks. Though all the runs in this Headwall area are rather short so a fall usually doesn't mean severe injury. While not being the most challenging runs on the mountain, easier lines such as Roberto's should be done before attempting this one!
