Freeride Skiing Difficult
Access Windows #5 on the peak 9 access rd, approx. 1,000 meters from the top of the Mercury Superchair. When the road turns left and uphill, the entrance to Windows #4 and Windows #5 will be on the right. To get into Windows #5, stay left upon dropping in and slowly turn back into the fall line. You will know when you have hit Windows #5 because the trees will open up more 40 meters in the middle. On a powder day Windows #5 can provide some of the best snow you've ever had, just be careful at the top as the wind has a tendency to blow the snow around. Keep your eyes out for a good looking path through the trees to the right. The river will come up on you quicker than you think, and the farther right you stay the easier the run out. Be cautious while running out, and check for others coming from windows #4. Jumping over is very tempting and looks like a few good extra turns, but don't be greedy and head to the right. Taking Windows #4 down after exiting Windows #5 could mean a disastrous run out, especially as the snow pack gets deeper and the river is harder to see.
