Steep open chute into Chihuahua Gulch
Ski Touring Difficult
Access this line via Mexican hat or the Lenawee Mountain Hike. This is a nice NE, E facing line that will put you into the Chihuahua Lake. It is recommended that you have strong mountaineering skills when attempting this line because it will put the skier into a zone completely away from everything. It is usually skied late season well into May so keep this in mind. Route choice is just as important going into the line as it is getting out of it. The route marked getting out of the bowl is one option to exit out. The other option is to simply hike straight back up the route you skied and come down back down Mexican Hat or any other line. Enjoy nice steep open turns in this secret chute off the backside of the Lenawee Ridge!
