The Waltz Map

The Waltz is a great run of you can get her in good conditions. Mostly after a dense storm, or late in the season are the best times to approach this area. It is spiny and fluty, with small drops into untouched pow pockets. Not many people attempt the Waltz, opting for the easier powder stashes of The Nose of Right Side. Head up to the top of The Nose at the bomb box and find the large rock spine pillow to the left. This is the rock that separates Right Side and the top of the Waltz. Stay just to the right and on top of this rock as you make your way down the fluty, steep snow. You will have a couple options to exit either right or left, but if the snow is good and you're on it, you will be prepared to navigate the gnarlier fall line section of the Waltz. Although you'd like it to, these spines can't last forever, and you will have to choose to either head into upper Super on your right, or into Right side to your left. Both ways go relatively clean after what you've just billy goated down.
