Blue Room Map

Blue Room is labeled as a tech trail on the map, but it's an eminently approachable tech trail at Big Sky Resort. This narrow singletrack trail begins fast and flowy as it swoops down a narrow singletrack trail with small berms in the corners instead of the wide trail tread and sweeping berms found on trails like Happy Hooves.

Description

Most of the tech on Blue Room comes courtesy of root webs through the tight treed sections, although the occasional rock garden will keep you on your toes. Potentially the most difficult features on the trail are some of the tight turns between the trees coupled with loose moon dust dirt in late summer. Throw in a couple of off-camber roots, and trying to negotiate these turns at speed can be tricky. Don't worry, you can throttle down and twist and turn your way through just fine, but if you come off of one of the high-speed straightaways into a tight turn, things can get hairy in a hurry!

While many of the trail maps give Blue Room a black diamond rating, in the grand scheme of things, Blue Room only deserves a "Difficult" FATMAP rating. Blue Room provides a great stepping stone to work up to Scherminator, and from Scherminator to Revenge. Scherminator has been awarded a "Severe" FATMAP difficulty rating, but it's not all that severe either. If you're feeling confident on Blue Room, be sure to give Scherminator a shot!
