This hike is also especially attractive because it tags the summit of Bald Mountain yet returns to the trailhead via an entirely different trail for a very rewarding loop hike. While there are some roots and rocks to be traversed on this hike, this trail is generally well-maintained and achievable for most hikers. Combine the short distance, moderate climbing, and fantastic views, and you get a high-value family-friendly hike that attracts plenty of crowds.
