Elevator Shaft is the local nickname for the Slide Brook crossover liftline and it gets that name for good reason. It’s long, steep and narrow, very similar to the Castlerock Liftline in difficulty. Elevator Shaft is always fun on powder days since the vast majority of people flock to the glades in search of a longer run. Ski the liftline to the the exit road and traverse out to the street. The bus will stop and pick you up. Although this is a cut trail, it is still out of bounds and should be treated as such. Don’t go alone and bring a cell phone. A rescue here would difficult and time consuming to say the least.
