The route for morning uphill laps at Stowe.

Nosedive is the singular route designated for morning uphill access at Stowe, so it’s where all the local crushers gather for pre-dawn fitness laps. And Nosedive will really get you fit! It’s a groomed, often icy, run that starts out steep and only steepens as it goes. If you make it to the Octagon Cafe at the top, you’ll have gained more than 2000 feet in only about a mile and a half. This makes for a killer workout and a fun ride back down.
Though it skis as one continuous piste, Nosedive is divided into three runs on the official trail map. Lower Nosedive and Nosedive are blue, but Upper Nosedive is a black diamond. Therefore, less experienced or less motivated uphillers might turn around before the pitch progresses. Note that you must return on the same route down, as other runs are not open for skiing during off-hours. You can find Stowe’s uphill policy on their Mountain Safety webpage. No pass is needed as of 2021/22, but adhering to the policy is important in order to preserve uphill access at the resort.
