Freeride Skiing Severe
A steep face that funnels through a narrow chute, Shot 3 offers 900 feet of vertical. Enter Shot 3 through the second Bear Pits gate from the top. This slope avalanches regularly. The triangular slope to the skiers right of the gate hangs above a cliff - watch yourself when entering. Head towards the rocky buttress to the left for the longest, straightest line. Watch for the traverse track entering from the left about midway down the chute. Work the ribs and spines to below for fresh tracks. While this is a straightforward couloir, it is quite steep. Only experts should attempt Bear Pits from the upper gates.
