A popular slot through the trees that opens to a wider face
Freeride Skiing Difficult
A popular slot through the trees that opens to a wider face, Signline Right sits alongside the Bear Pits ropeline (or "signline," hence the name). Access from the top of Chair 6, working the Powder Bowl ridge past the Lower Field, through the trees and return to the ridge as it opens into the Bear Pits terrain. Signline Right is bordered by a rocky point on the left and the obvious ropeline on the right. Thanks to prevailing winds, this little opening in the trees often holds deep snow. This is a fairly easy slope with a consistent fall line for non-experts. Watch for the traverse track that leads to one of two Bear Pits entrances. The lower gate is more easily accessed by snowboarders when coming from the traverse above Little Portillo. From Signline Right, however, the upper gate offers more options. It is possible to enter Bear Pits from either gate and elongate your run by another 500 vertical feet. Alternately, gain some speed before hitting the bottom of Signline Right to make it up and over the hump that leads to Lucky Shot.
