Receiver Chute Map

This narrow, steep couloir on the north side of the King offers a challenging, albeit short, run for experts. While this chute starts wide, it narrows down quickly between opposing rock buttresses. Often overlooked as it curves to the left out of view, this run is a classic Avalanche Basin chute. Bordered on either side by a rocky buttress on the left and a snowy buttress on the right, this couloir is wide enough to make turns, but narrow enough to require good technique. Connect with a short traverse to Damn Fine Forest for a total of 800 vertical.
