Mountain Biking Easy, Moderate

Description

Nestled deep within the heart of the Bow Valley, the CNCPP is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, making it a special and exciting place to ride. This world-class facility was originally built to host the Nordic events of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games and during summer, the centre transforms into a mountain bike mecca and shouldn’t be missed by any riders visiting the area.

The extensive network of trails delivers a fun experience for all riders. The new and old school single track features bumps, jumps, rollers, steeper fall lines, groomed berms and a skills park for stunts. With the new school flow tracks bringing a fresh-fun feel to the trails, the old school tracks maintain a sense of challenge through technical-steep lines. Each year the trails are reviewed at the CNCPP and fresh ideas for new trails are never far from the horizon. Local trail associations such as CAMBA (Canmore and Area Mountain Bike Association), CTA (Canmore Trail Alliance) and Friends of Kananaskis, are all key partners in maintaining and building trails at the CNCPP and throughout the Bow Valley.

Riders will encounter a variety of users at the CNCPP; from experienced racers training for their next event, to local kid’s experiencing mountain biking for the first time. As a new rider to the area, this guidebook aims to provide a selection of trails and routes that are accessible for beginners but also to more advanced riders who are willing to push their limits.
