Description

With 600km of perfectly groomed pistes, the 3 Valleys is (rightly) regarded as the best place on Earth to ski groomers. The capital of the 3 Valleys is Courchevel - a series of villages which add up to perhaps the planet's most famous square kilometres of ski real estate. For freeriders, Courchevel is also a brilliant place to ski because those famous lifts transport you to some epic off piste ski lines which - considering how many people are on the chairlifts - are remarkably quiet.

Compiled in this guidebook are a dozen of the best freeride lines accessed from Courchevel and most of them are fun, smile-inducing affairs. There are a couple of steeper lines but most of these routes are firmly in the "Type 1 fun" category. The same could be said of the nearby freeride lines in our Méribel guidebook - /discover/guidebook/12570 - and our collection of ski adventures above Val Thorens (the westernmost of the 3 Valleys) - /discover/guidebook/12751.

If moving valleys all sounds a bit too much like hard work, stay in Courchevel and check out our guidebook to 5 of the finest tours in the region.
