Mountain Biking Moderate, Difficult
Park City, Utah was the first Gold Level Ride Center designated by IMBA. During that process, the riders and trail advocates in Park City actually helped write the book, helping IMBA to identify which factors should be required for gold-level ride centers. The mountain biking here is just that good!
You can enjoy most any kind of mountain biking in Park City. While overall the trails are buff and flowy, you can still track down rowdy enduro lines, old school lift-served DH trails, jump lines, dirt jump parks, alpine point-to-point shuttles, high desert riding, beautiful aspen groves, fat biking in the winter, and more. The massive trail network multiplied by the incredible diversity of the riding equals one of the very best mountain bike destinations on the planet!
The overwhelmingly complex network totaling hundreds of miles of singletrack means that you can create ride combinations of every conceivable style and length, right here in Park City. While Park City isn’t best-known for its technical riding, you can still piece together a slew of epic shuttle runs.
Most of these shuttle runs are served by the Guardsman Pass road rising straight out of Park City, climbing to the crest of the mountain range. The one possible exception is the WOW trail, which could be accessed from Guardsman Pass, or directly from the Midway side. In any case, whether you get dropped off at Empire Pass, about three quarters up the mountain, or catch a ride all the way to the top of Guardsman, this pass serves up an incredible way of pedaling-light adventures. And thanks to recent efforts to pave the road all the way up and over the top of Guardsman, any vehicle can now make it all the way to the top.
In this guidebook, you’ll find eight shuttle run ideas to help you get started. This is by no means the limit to the number of routes you can create—the only limit is your imagination!
