Little Austria - Main Map

Little Austria is aptly named as a result of it's wide open terrain, and it's ability to catch fresh snow and hold it long after a fall, due to being shaded for the majority of winter, this area can be skied well into October, even into November in a great year. This area provides a fairly steep gradient for about 300 metres of vertical from Carruthers Peak's western flanks, before plunging into the rocky gully of Lower Little Austria (see the description for more). With fantastic views across the Murray Valley and to Khancoban. You can lap this area if you don't want to drop down to the canyon by simply skinning back up the face.
