Crypt and Vimy Ridge Hike Map

The hike begins with a paddle across Waterton Lake (or a ride on the boat) to the Crypt Lake Trailhead. You then hike up the Crypt Lake Trail through the beautiful valley. Approximately 1km before Crypt, at the hitching posts/kitchen camp, there is a drainage which you can use to scramble up to Vimy Ridge. From here it is possible to hike along the ridge to Vimy Peak. Note the ridge has some very technical sections and is not for the faint of heart.

Description

After returning the same way, we took the trail to Crypt Lake to view the scenic lake. An alternative route is to go up Crypt Lake Trail, scramble to Vimy Peak, then come down the normal Vimy Peak trail.
