Hawaii 5-0 Map

Arguably one of the steepest lines in-bounds in the whole resort. Rumor has it it's named Hawaii 5-0 because it's pitch is 50 degrees. Either traverse across from the top of False Face (very exposed traverse) or take Chainsaw Ridge down from the False Face entrance of Couloir Extreme. Hawaii 5-0 will be the first chute you come to dropping into the Couloir on the right, about 50m down. There are a couple of options for entry, depending on how the cornice has formed. This is definitely a no-fall zone and not for the light-hearted. The drop-in zone is wider than the chute itself and depending on the snow there may still be some exposed rocks half way down the chute you need to negotiate on your way around (or air!) The line itself is fairly short and could be subject to some avalanche/cornice debris on the exit to the Couloir, and usually some traverse lines too. Be sure to exit without too much speed.
