Chamonix

Two sustained and serious exit couloirs that offer steep skiing for those in search of an interesting finish to the Grand Envers.

Before the final left traverse of the Grand Envers scope out the conditions of these east facing couloirs. With good snow cover these lines offer great skiing down steep sided couloirs before exiting back onto the classic Vallée Blanche line. They can be rocky and icy in poor conditions.

Difficulty

Severe

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.

Medium Exposure (E2)

As well as the slope itself, there are some obstacles (such as rock outcrops) which could aggravate injury.

Remoteness

Little chance of being seen or helped in case of an accident.
